RSD opened its doors on July 15th, 2005 with the vision to provide the dance community with a wide selection of quality products at a reasonable cost. Our main focus is the dancer – we are even open late every evening – when the dancer needs us the most!!
Owners are a mother and daughter team who have been in the dance world for over 30 years. Sheena Le Blanc, T.T.P. Dip (NBS), A.I.S.T.D. (NB, DB), RAD Teaching Certificate graduated from The National Ballet School of Canada’s Teacher Training Program in 2005. She is a certified ISTD National Associates Instructor and has obtained many courses in child psychology and the development of children ages three through eighteen. Sheena also obtained both her ISTD Cecchetti Associate as well as her Royal Academy of Dance Teacher’s Diploma. She studied Ballet, Modern and Irene Dowd Studies combined with Anatomy and Body Conditioning to further understand the function of the dancer’s body and how the muscles work.
Professional Pointe Shoe fittings by a trained staff member. Sheena apprenticed at the National Ballet School of Canada – The Shoe Room for two years to properly fit pointe shoes as well as ballet slippers and jazz shoes. She also learned how pointe shoes are constructed and how to alter already made pointe shoes to better help the dancer and to minimize injuries to the dancer’s feet.
Lynn’s focus is the Customer. With over 30 years experience in varying fields of customer service and administration, Lynn knows how to ensure the customer leaves a happy one and they will come back AND tell others about us too!
